In light of this, I've resolved to embark on a journey of healing, understanding, and recovery. This journey is about more than just overcoming; it's about cutting directly to the root of my struggles. For over a decade, depression has been a shadow over my life, accompanied by addiction and substance abuse. These are not mere challenges but deep-seated issues that I've masked with drugs and unhealthy eating habits instead of confronting directly.
My actions, fueled by addiction, have hurt those I love most. I've pushed away the very aspects of life that hold true value, isolating myself in a world defined by my struggles.
This declaration serves multiple purposes: It is an affirmation of my love for the people in my life, placing them above the destructive hold of drugs. It's a plea for understanding and a step towards catharsis. My hope is that sharing my journey will not only aid in my recovery but also support others in their battles. We all have our struggles, yet we stand on the shoulders of giants, drawing strength from those who have faced their own challenges.
I want to communicate to my loved ones that they matter more to me than any substance could. I want them to know I love them deeply and need their support more than ever.
My descent into drug use was an attempt to numb the pain of past traumas and the challenges of growing up without the tools to cope healthily. Now, I'm committed to learning healthier coping mechanisms that don't lead to self-destruction or jeopardize my freedom.
I aim to honor and cherish those who have always believed in me, including my family and a childhood friend who holds a special place in my heart. My mission is to live a life that reflects the love and hope they have instilled in me.
Today, February 15th, 2024, marks the first day of my commitment to this new path. My aspiration is to embrace my true self, to become a philosopher and writer dedicated to helping others heal. I plan to explore the realms of mental illness, cognitive sciences, consciousness, and our collective social reality, hoping to contribute to a world that surpasses the one I entered.
This blog will serve as a testament to my personal journey, interspersed with insights on cognitive science, psychiatry, parapsychology, the paranormal, art, and culture. It will be a space for human interest stories, philosophy, and literature. I invite you to subscribe and follow my journey. Your comments and thoughts are not only welcome but also deeply appreciated.
Thank you for standing with me. Let's change the world together starting with ourselves.
